The first mechanical dental foot engine was crafted by John Greenwood in 1790. It had been encouraged by a foot-run spinning wheel. A clockwork-type dental drill was invented in 1864 by British dentist George Fellows Harrington. Although getting considerably quicker than prior drills, it was also in
